pH And Your Health

Another growing important concept in monitoring your health is your pH levels. A wonderful booklet on pH and your health is, pH, Your Potential for Health by Dr. M.T. Morter. In this information packed booklet Dr. Morter covers what pH is, how it impacts your health and how to monitor it.

The booklet defines pH which stands for "potential of hydrogen". Or you can be technical about it and say the pH represents the negative logarithm of the hydrogen ion concentration. But for layman's purpose for health, Dr. Morter proposes that pH can stand for your potential for health.

pH is the value given to indicate the acidity or alkalinity of a substance. The pH scale of values runs from 0 to 14. The SAD (standard American diet) helps to create too much of an acid environment. This would include lots of processed grains, sugars and proteins. Healthier diets high in vegetables or fruits help to create more of an alkaline environment and increased health. pH as it relates to your internal fluids can be monitored through urine and saliva.

For a great explanation and handbook for monitoring pH, you can order Dr. Morter's handbook by calling 1-800-874-1478.
