Dr. Lawrence Bronstein earned his bachelors degree in Zoology with a concentration in anatomy and physiology at the University of New York at SUNY Oswego. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Human Biology and a doctorate in Chiropractic at the National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Illinois.

Upon graduation he and his wife Nancy Bronstein , also a graduate of NUHS, started a holistic health care facility in Patchogue, Long Island named Suffolk Family Chiropractic Center. At SFCC in addition to traditional chiropractic care, services also included: classical homeopathy, dietary and nutritional consultation, applied kinesiology, and stress management with a licensed psychologist. At SFCC there was a strong emphasis on family health care and there were ongoing workshops and lectures in all aspects of natural health.

In 1991 in order to create a more healthy and rural environment for their family Dr. Bronstein and his family moved to the beautiful Berkshire Hills of western Massachusetts in Great Barrington. Mahaiwe Chiropractic and Health Services was created with the intent of offering a natural health care facility to partner with patients and the surrounding community to nurture the ongoing growth and commitment to complementary and integrative approaches to healthy living.

Postgraduate study and ongoing education has been a strong commitment that continues to deepen and strengthen Dr. Bronstein's approach to health care. Over the years continued study have resulted in becoming certified in applied kinesiology, certified as a nutrition specialist and as a BioSET(TM) practitioner. Dr. Bronstein is also a diplomate of The American Board of Clinical Nutrition.

Community service is a passion for Dr. Bronstein. He has been a member of Rotary International for 23 years and is a past president and always very active on committees. Recent years have included the opportunity to serve the local community through participation in a non-profit wellness center, The NOAH Center (New Opportunities For Achieving Health). The mission of the NOAH Center is to educate and encourage maximum health through self-knowledge and activity.   The NOAH Center, www.noahcenter.org, has a lending library on various health topics, ongoing health workshops, and sponsors multidisciplinary healthcare workshops for healthcare practitioners.

A number of years ago Dr. Bronstein met Deborah Golden Alecson and they both quickly realized their mutual interests in children's health. Over time they began to work together in regards to a number of mutual clients. Our philosophy and mutual concerns for children's health bore fruit when we created a radio show together on a local community based all volunteer radio station, 97.7 WBCR-LP in Great Barrington. The show is called Food For Thought: Children, Nutrition and Learning and can be heard every Wednesday morning from 8 AM to 9 AM. It can also be heard on a live stream at www.berkshireradio.org. Over the last few years Ms. Alecson and Dr. Bronstein have become committed to educating the local community on integrative approaches in childhood illness. Through this mutual alliance and commitment, Child Treatment and Consulting Services was borne.

After practicing for 25 years, Dr. Bronstein looks forward to continuing to serve others on their journey to health and wellness. All of the staff at Mahaiwe Chiropractic and Health Services consider it an honor to be given the opportunity to become partners with patients in achieving and maintaining optimal health.
